Allyssa Romero has been named to the Academic All-RMAC first team for indoor track & field.
Romero is MSU Denver's first Academic All-RMAC first team selection in women's indoor track since Breanna Hemming in 2015.
In addition to Romero, nine other members of the Roadrunners' women's team have been named to the Academic All-RMAC honor roll. They are: middle distance runner

Jessica Hobson and
Raygen Ivins, multi-even performer
Jocelyn Korbe, hurdler
Maya Ries, thrower
Grace Solarin, middle distance runner

Academic All-RMAC first team selections are a result of voting by league sports information directors. To be eligible for the first team, student-athletes must be in at least their third consecutive semester at their current institution, must have used a season of competition, and must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
Eligibility for the honor roll is the same, though the minimum GPA requirement is 3.30.
At the RMAC Indoor Championships, Romero placed fourth in the 400 meters (57.68 seconds) and ninth in the 200 (25.66) as well as running on the fourth-place 4x400 relay. For the season, she ranked eighth in the RMAC in the 400 with provisional qualifying time for NCAA Division II Nationals of 56.81, and she was 11th in the RMAC in the 200 (25.34). A 2023 CSC Academic All-District selection, Romero is previously a four-time Academic All-RMAC honor roll member (twice indoors, twice outdoors).
She's a five-time All-RMAC second team selection (outdoor 200, outdoor 400, outdoor 4x100 in 2023; indoor 400 in 2023 and 2021). Romero is the MSU Denver school record holder indoors in both the 200 (25.37) and 400 (56.63), and ranks second in program history outdoors in the 200 (25.06) and 400 (56.75). She's a two-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner, a sevem-time selection to MSU Denver Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and she holds a 3.92 cumulative GPA while majoring in criminal justice & criminology.
