GOLDEN, Colo. – Taylor Weber sailed a personal-best 5.13 meters (16 feet, 10 inches) in the women's long jump, becoming the fifth-best individual in the event in program history, to lead MSU Denver's efforts Friday at the Mines Winter Classic.
Weber finished 13
th in the event with a leap that is tied for the eighth-best ever, regardless of performer, for MSU Denver. Meanwhile freshman Breauna Sorenson placed 16
th in the long jump at 5.06 (16-7 ¼), an effort that puts her sixth individually in program history.
In the pentathlon,
Jocelyn Korbe was 10
th with 2,525 points. During that competition, she cleared 1.44 in the high jump – already the program's best ever in that event indoors, the effort matched her third best.
Grace Solarin was ninth in the women's shot put at 11.76 (38-7), while
Lushous Davis was 14
th at 10.31 (33-10). In the men's shot put,
Brandon Simpson was 12
th at 12.99 (42-7 ½).
The meet concludes Saturday, with many Roadrunners competing both on the track and in field events.
