DENVER – MSU Denver has had six of its athletes named to the All-RMAC first or second team for indoor track & field.
Both
Anthony Martinez (men's 60-meter hurdles) and
Naleia Sowell (women's 400 meters) have both been named to the first team, while making the second team are
Noel Lopez (men's 5,000),
Allyssa Romero (women's 400),
Maya Ries (women's 60 hurdles) and
Grace Solarin (women's weight throw).
Four women in individual events represents the highest total ever for MSU Denver.
All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference recognition in track & field is based solely on how competitors finish at the RMAC Championships. Those finishing in the top three of their events are named to the first team, while fourth through sixth place finishers are named to the second team. First-place relays are added to the first team, and second-place relays make the second team.
Sowell was MSU Denver's top finisher at the RMAC Championships, placing second in the 400 in 57.30 seconds. Martinez finished third in the men's 60 hurdles in 8.21.
Romero was two spots behind Sowell in the 400, finishing fourth in 57.68. Ries was fourth in the 60 hurdles (8.77) and Solarin was fourth in the weight throw with an effort of 15.90 meters.
Lopez was sixth in the men's 5,000 in 14:32.67.
