KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Despite playing then national-No. 12 Dallas Baptist to a tie on the road and earning a victory over Lubbock Christian (Texas), the MSU Denver women's soccer team slid two spots to No. 6 in this week's United Soccer Coaches' South Central Region poll.
The USC region poll isn't affiliated with the official NCAA region rankings that are released during the final three weeks of the season and are ultimately used to determine at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament.
MSU Denver, 1-0-3, also didn't receive any votes in the national top 25 poll after garnering them last week.
The Roadrunners' schedule doesn't get any easier this week.
They travel Thursday for a 7 p.m. CDT game at 2-1 Angelo State (Texas), ranked eighth in the region, then return home for a noon game Sunday against Cal Poly Pomona (4-0), which is ranked No. 7 in Division II.
