COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Noel Lopez finished second in the men's race and
Mia Salas placed third in the women's field as the MSU Denver cross country teams opened the season Saturday at the UCCS Rust Buster.
Lopez, a returning national qualifier, ran eight kilometers in 25 minutes, 24.50 seconds, leading the Roadrunners to third place in the team race in a field of eight.
Salas, a past All-American in cross country, completed the 5K women's course in 17:49.90, leading the Roadrunners to third place in the team race in a field of seven.
Both MSU Denver teams recorded 73 points.
JJ Ramey, another returning national qualifier, was MSU Denver's second men's finisher, crossing the line in 26:10.30 for 13
th place.
