DENVER — MSU Denver Volleyball reaffirmed its place among the conference's elite on Thursday afternoon, earning two major awards and a league-high four First Team All-RMAC selections as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2025 postseason honors.
Sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Boyte was named RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, while freshman setter/right-side Karyna Werley earned RMAC Freshman of the Year, giving the Roadrunners two of the conference's top individual awards.
It marks MSU Denver's strongest All-RMAC showing under head coach Jenny Glenn, who has built one of the nation's most consistently dominant Division II programs.
Boyte anchored one of the best defensive units in the country and became the first MSU Denver player to claim RMAC Defensive Player of the Year honors since Ngoc Phan in 2011, and the first to do so during Glenn's tenure.
Boyte led the RMAC in total blocks (106) and blocks per set (1.14), ranking 36th nationally. She also recorded a .340 hitting percentage — seventh in the RMAC — while helping MSU Denver hold opponents to the fewest assists, kills, and aces allowed of any team in the conference.
Werley became MSU Denver's first RMAC Freshman of the Year since Kelsey Ellis in 2007, and the first under Glenn. She also becomes the first MSU Denver freshman to earn First Team All-RMAC honors since Bri Morley in 2008.
The Albuquerque native ranked 10th in the RMAC with 529 assists (5.69 per set) and finished with the fourth-highest hitting percentage in the league at .348, emerging as one of the most efficient dual-threat setters in Division II.
MSU Denver led the RMAC with four First Team honorees:
Helf ranked fifth in the RMAC with 305 kills, continuing her exceptional production as a two-time First Team selection. Moerman posted the second-best hitting percentage in the RMAC (.366) and added 81 total blocks, elevating her to First Team status after last year's Second Team nod.
Freshman outside hitter Brooke Gennerman earned a Second Team selection after a standout debut season that included 199 kills, the third-most on the team — echoing the path Boyte took as a Second Team honoree in her own freshman year.
Redshirt junior Skyler Michael also earned her first All-RMAC recognition, landing on the Second Team after posting 114 kills in just 21 matches, ranking fourth on the team at 2.08 kills per set while contributing to the league's most potent offense.
Libero Mia Accomazzo and setter GabriElle Brewer were both recognized as Honorable Mention All-RMAC selections. Accomazzo continued her strong play in the back row, while Brewer played a pivotal role in MSU Denver's balanced and efficient offense.
In total, eight Roadrunners earned postseason honors, underscoring the depth, talent, and consistency within a program that continues to set the standard in the RMAC — both defensively and offensively.
MSU Denver enters the postseason as one of the top teams in the region and will continue its quest for an RMAC Tournament title this weekend at the Auraria Event Center.
