@MSUDenverVB: Accomazzo Earns RMAC's Summit Award

DENVER — MSU Denver sophomore libero/defensive specialist Mia Accomazzo has been named the 2025 RMAC Summit Award winner for volleyball, the conference announced Friday — recognizing her as the top academic performer competing at this year's RMAC Tournament finals site.

Accomazzo, a Sport Management major, holds a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA and becomes the first Roadrunner volleyball player to earn the honor since Rylee Hladky in 2021. The Summit Award is one of the most prestigious academic accolades in the RMAC, presented annually to the student-athlete with the highest GPA among those participating in the conference championship event.

On the court, Accomazzo has been every bit as dependable as she is in the classroom. The sophomore has played in all 27 matches and 97 sets for No. 10 MSU Denver this season, anchoring one of the strongest defenses in Division II. She leads the Roadrunners in digs and has been a key piece of a team that enters the RMAC semifinals on a 15-match winning streak.

Accomazzo's award highlights the model of excellence MSU Denver strives for — championship-level performance paired with elite academic achievement.

The Roadrunners will continue their postseason run Friday at 5 p.m. in the RMAC Tournament semifinals at the Auraria Event Center.
