BOULDER, Colo – Kenny Greene did it again! The Aurora native has once again broken the school record in the 400 meters at the Colorado Invitational.
The freshman sprinter dashed his way to a 47.42 time, which bested his own time of 48.01 seconds. He set his previous mark at the Potts Invitational, which was also in Boulder. His time was good enough for third place in the event.
Fellow sprinter
Owen Clarke finished seventh in men's 200 meters crossing the line in a time of 22.01.
Clark and Greene also teamed up with
Abrehem Martinez and
Kevin Tashie for the men's 4x400 relay and they would finish third and doing so in a time of 3:17.74.
On the women's side we saw
Maya Ries, who also competed at the Mines Winter Classic on the same weekend, finish fifth overall in the 60-meter hurdles (8.90), while
Naleia Sowell placed sixth in the 400 meters in a time of 56.51 second.
In the women's 800 meters,
Audrynn Street and
Tanis Chavez finish 12
th and 15
th respectfully. Street finished the race in 2:17.85, while Chavez won her heat and reached a personal record of 2:19.54.
The track and field teams will next compete on Feb 14th and 15th in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Don Kirby Invitational.
