Greene wins gold in the men's 200 meter dash

Isaiah Williams, Kenny Greene, Naleia Sowell, Maya Ries all earn medals at championships
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo - Kenny Greene wins the 200 meter dash leading the Roadrunners at the 2025 RMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Greene took first place in the 200 meters and did so in a time of 21.69 seconds, earning 10 points for the team. The sophomore finished second in the prelims running 22:00 seconds, but came through in the finals to earn the team's only gold medal. His time broke the Mountain Lion Fieldhouse record, with the previous record ran at 21.81. 

Greene just missed a second medal, finishing fourth in the men's 400 meter dash in time of 48.37 seconds. 

Nalei Sowell also took home some hardware, finishing second and earning the silver medal in the women's 200 meter dash. She crossed the line in a time of 56.65 seconds earning eight points for the team. She bested her prelims time of 56.88.

Earning the bronze medal was Maya Ries, who finished third in the women's 60 meter hurdles. After finishing fourth in the prelims in a time of 8.72 seconds, she rose to the occasion in the finals, racing to an 8.62 second finish. She broke her own previous school record of 8.71, which she ran in February of last year. 

Isaiah Williams also medaled for the Roadrunners, earning the silver in the men's high jump event. He reached 1.99 meters, which is .1 meter from his own school record and scored eight points for the team.

The four podiums is the most for head coach Janis Christopher in her 11 years at the helm of the Roadrunners. 

The men's 4x400 relay team also had a fantastic day, finishing fourth in a time of 3:21.35 and earning five points. The team of Owen Clarke, Abrehem Martinez, Kevin Tashie and Kenny Greene had the highest team finish in the history of the program. 

The women's 4x400 relay team of Audrynn Street, Odone Omofoma, Mara Rodgers and Naleia Sowell placed sixth earning three points. 

Taylor Weber earned four points in the women's triple jump after reaching 11.39 meters.

P.J. Guidry finished sixth in the men's triple jump after hitting 14.17 meters, earning three points for the team. 

The Roadrunners will have to wait until Tuesday to hear if any of their times will qualify them for the national meet in Indianapolis on March 13-15.
