Box Score 2 Chadron, Neb.- The MSU Denver Roadrunners defeated their RMAC rivals, the Chadron State Eagles in a doubleheader on Saturday.
In the first game, the Roadrunners had seven runs on 10 hits and they came out victorious with a 7-2 win. The second game was particularly outstanding for the Roadrunners, as they hit four home runs in the 12-3 win.
The Roadrunners are now 19-7 overall and 14-3 in conference play. They are now ranked second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings. The Eagles fall to 9-15 and 5-13 in conference play.
Game 1:
The Roadrunners started strong, as they scored three runs in the first inning. Brooklyn Enny doubled down the right field line with the bases were loaded, which gave her three RBI. Miki Berg, Jenna Medhus and Jaiden Geist all scored.
Geist led the Roadrunners with two runs scored. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Thorngren and Sydney Loyet each scored one run for the Eagles.
Berg, Enny and Natalie Shellhorn each provided two hits for the Roadrunners. The Eagles also had multiple batters with two hits, which included Lauren Zimmerman and Loyet.
Pitcher Natalie Romero also had an outstanding game and was crucial for the Roadrunners' win. She pitched all seven innings, didn't give up an earned run and came through with three strikeouts. She earned her seventh win on the season.
Game 2:
Both teams had a slow start in the second game, but the Roadrunners were able to regroup and take control in the later innings.
Medhus hit her first home run of the game during the second inning with a great hit to right center. In the third inning, Geist later hit a home run to left field in the third inning.
The Roadrunners had a brilliant sixth inning, as they scored five runs. Medhus hit her second home run of the game, bringing in Katie Maney to score.
In the seventh inning, Genevieve Bower hit a home run to right field, and Neila Fee secured another run for the Roadrunners.
Maney, Berg, Medhus and Hannah DiFabio each scored two runs for the Roadrunners.
Medhus led the way with four RBI and secured her third win of 2025 going the full seven innings and striking out seven Eagles.
The Roadrunners will be back back in action tomorrow for two more games against Chadron State starting at 11 a.m.
