Box Score 2 DENVER, Colo. — The MSU Denver Roadrunners handled business against the Regis Rangers Sunday afternoon, winning the first two games (14-3, 9-6) of the four-game series.
The Roadrunners improve to 29-9 overall and 24-5 in RMAC play.
Alexia Boring had an incredible day at the plate, sending three balls over the fence across Sunday's doubleheader. She went 4-for-7 on the day with seven RBIs, three runs, and a walk.
Jenna Medhus also recorded a mulit-homer day, belting one in each game. She went 3-for-5 with four runs and four RBIs. Medhus also went the distance in the circle for game two, allowing six runs while striking out five, improving to a 4-2 overall record on the season.
The reigning back-to-back RMAC pitcher of the week Natalie Romero threw five innings, allowing three runs on four strikeouts en route to the game one win for the Roadrunners. She moves to a 13-3 record on the campaign.
GAME ONE
Katie Maney got plunked to start the game, which led to an Alexia Boring two-run homer to put the Roadrunners up early on.
Lexi Gephart drilled a single through the right side for another two runs. Hannah DiFabio then joined the hit party with a single up the middle to score Arelliano which forced a pitching change for the Rangers.
Regis nabbed two runs in the bottom half of the first to make it a three-run Roadrunner lead.
Jenna Medhus made it a five-run game once again with a two-run bomb in the second inning. Adriana Bueno added on another for MSUD with a single to score Miki Berg. DiFabio repeated her first AB with another RBI hit to put her team up 9-2.
Boring capped off the seven-run inning for the Roadrunners with a three-run homer, her second in as many innings.
RBI hits from Berg and Bueno made it a 14-2 game after three innings. Regis would grab one more run the rest of the way, but the Roadrunners would win in a run-rule, 14-3, after five innings.
GAME TWO
Regis struck first in game two, going up 1-0 in the first inning. Bueno responded for the Roadrunners in the second frame with another RBI single.
Medhus drilled her second homer of the day in third to put her team up 3-1.
Boring blasted her third big fly of the day in the fourth inning to give MSUD a 5-1 advantage. Berg then belted a three-run homer a few batters later for an 8-1 lead.
Cheyenne Prieto capped off the final run of the afternoon for MSU Denver, with a solo shot for a 9-1 lead headed into the bottom of seventh.
The Rangers would rally for five runs in the bottom half but MSU Denver was able to hold on for the 9-6 win.

The Roadrunners will be back in action tomorrow afternoon for another doubleheader with the Regis Rangers starting at Noon MT.
