DENVER – After a dominant performance on the mound against Newman, Brayden McCollough of the MSU Denver baseball team has been named the RMAC Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
McCollough delivered one of the top pitching outings in the RMAC this season, leading the Roadrunners to their fifth straight win to begin the year. The right-hander was nearly untouchable, carrying a perfect game into the sixth inning before finishing his outing after six strong frames.
In his six innings of work, McCollough allowed just one run on two hits while striking out a staggering 11 batters, the most strikeouts by a Roadrunner this season. He consistently overpowered opposing hitters, showcasing command of the strike zone and swing-and-miss stuff throughout his start.
The senior retired the first 15 batters he faced, keeping the opposing lineup off balance as MSU Denver built momentum early behind his performance. Even after surrendering his first baserunner in the sixth, he regrouped to close out the inning and cap a statement outing.
The weekly honor underscores McCollough's strong start to the 2026 campaign and the depth of MSU Denver's pitching staff as the Roadrunners surged to a perfect 7-0 start. MSU Denver will look to keep the momentum rolling as non-conference play continues later this week.
