DENVER – Another busy week is on tap for the MSU Denver Roadrunners as championship season begins for indoor track and field while basketball enters its final stretch and both baseball and softball gear up for key conference matchups.
Here's what's ahead in Roadrunners Athletics:
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Friday–Saturday | RMAC Indoor Championships | Gunnison, Colo. | 10 a.m. each day
The men's and women's indoor track and field teams return to Gunnison, Colorado, for the RMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, with field events and prelims beginning at 10 a.m. each day. The meet marks the conclusion of the indoor season.
The Roadrunners head into the championship weekend with momentum. Brandon Simpson most recently shattered his own school record in the men's weight throw, becoming the first in program history to eclipse 15 meters and breaking his own mark for the third time this season. On the track side, Odone Omofoma set a new program record in the women's 200 meters, continuing a season filled with breakthroughs.
With multiple athletes trending upward at the right time, MSU Denver will look to convert strong regular-season performances into podium finishes.
WOMEN's BASKETBALL

Winners of five straight, the Roadrunners (14-12, 12-6 RMAC) are playing their best basketball of the season entering the final week.
MSU Denver is coming off home victories over CSU Pueblo and Colorado Christian, highlighted by Mikylah Espinosa's career-high 37-point performance against Pueblo, where she also drained a career-best five three-pointers. On the defensive end, Keira Mitchell continues to anchor the paint, earning her third RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor after tallying nine blocks across the two wins. She leads the conference in total blocks and has been a force during the team's surge up the standings.
The Roadrunners close out their home schedule Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against Colorado School of Mines before wrapping up the regular season Saturday at 1 p.m. on the road against Regis University.
MEN's BASKETBALL

The Roadrunners (9-17, 7-11 RMAC) split their final home weekend, defeating Colorado Christian after falling in a tight contest to CSU Pueblo. Though eliminated from postseason contention, MSU Denver will look to build momentum heading into the offseason.
Brian Unachukwu continues to dominate defensively, earning his second RMAC Defensive Player of the Week award after recording eight blocks and 12 rebounds over the weekend. He leads the RMAC in total blocks and has been one of the conference's premier rim protectors all season.
The men host Colorado School of Mines on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for their home finale before closing the regular season Saturday at 3 p.m. on the road against Regis.
BASEBALL

Ranked No. 25 nationally, the Roadrunners (9-2) return to action after a bye week. MSU Denver has been one of the hottest teams in the region to open the season and will resume conference play with a split-site series against University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
The series begins Friday at 3 p.m. in Denver before shifting to Colorado Springs for a Saturday doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. With a top-20 ranking in hand, the Roadrunners will aim to continue stacking wins as conference play looms.
SOFTBALL

After opening the season 1-3, MSU Denver has flipped the script in emphatic fashion. The Roadrunners have won eight straight games — all at home — including a four-game RMAC sweep of Fort Lewis this past weekend.
Now sitting at 9-3 overall, MSU Denver hits the road for a key conference showdown against Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. The teams will square off in doubleheaders Saturday (12 p.m. & 2 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. & 1 p.m.).
With confidence building and momentum firmly on their side, the Roadrunners will look to carry their red-hot stretch into one of the conference's toughest road environments.
