PUEBLO, Colo. – The MSU Denver Roadrunners track and field team opened the outdoor season in impressive fashion this weekend at the Dan Caprioglio Invitational, highlighted by a trio of freshmen rewriting the program record book.

Leading the way were Andrea Davis, Jacob Bowler, and Andre Henry, who each broke school records in their respective events to cap off a strong start to the spring campaign.

Davis soared to a mark of 1.67 meters in the women's high jump, finishing fourth overall while setting a new program standard. On the men's side, Bowler delivered a standout performance in the discus, placing ninth with a throw of 47.32 meters, while Henry continued his strong freshman campaign by breaking the school record in the shot put (14.01m).

The Roadrunners opened competition Friday with a solid showing in distance and field events.

In the men's 1500 meters, Darren Hayden paced the Roadrunners with a ninth-place finish (3:57.66), with Cian Nagle close behind in 12th. Avanti Wadhwa led the women in the same event, finishing 16th.

Wadhwa also posted a top-10 finish in the 800 meters (2:25.59), while Eisen Dacus led the men in the event with a time of 1:57.58.

The Roadrunners found success in the sprints, as Arianna Toaipa turned in a strong performance in the 400 meters, placing fourth (57.79), while Kenny Greene finished fourth in the men's 400 (47.17) and followed it up with a third-place finish in the 200 meters (21.13).

In the jumps, Isaiah Williams cleared 1.98 meters to take second in the men's high jump, while Joseph Barlow added a fourth-place finish in the long jump (6.93m).

The Roadrunners also saw solid performances in the hurdles, with Joseph Barlow leading the men in the 110-meter hurdles (15.36), and Delaney Pighetti pacing the women in the 100-meter hurdles.

With multiple top finishes and three school records falling, MSU Denver opened the outdoor season with momentum and promise. The Roadrunners showcased depth across distance, sprints, and field events, setting the tone for the rest of the spring schedule.
