DENVER – With indoor track & field and both basketball programs officially wrapped up for the year, attention now shifts fully to the diamond for MSU Denver Roadrunners Athletics. Until outdoor track & field begins competition in the coming weeks, baseball and softball will carry the department slate.
The Roadrunners (9-5) hit the road this weekend to open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play against crosstown rival Regis Rangers.
MSU Denver enters the weekend looking to halt a four-game skid after being swept by UCCS Mountain Lions. Despite the results, the offense showed plenty of firepower, plating 32 runs over the four-game series. The Roadrunners will look to clean up execution on the mound and defensively while carrying that offensive production into their first league series of the campaign.
Baseball Schedule (at Regis)
- Friday, March 6 – 3 p.m.
- Saturday, March 7 – 12 p.m.
- Saturday, March 7 – 3 p.m.
- Sunday, March 8 – 12 p.m.
Softball (10-6, 5-3 RMAC) returns to Denver after a challenging 1-3 road series against Colorado Mesa Mavericks. The highlight of the weekend came in the Roadrunners' lone win, when Natalie Romero delivered a complete-game shutout performance in the circle.
Now back at home — where MSU Denver is a perfect 8-0 this season — the Roadrunners welcome Adams State Grizzlies for a four-game conference set. With home-field momentum on their side, MSU Denver will look to rebound and continue building in RMAC play.
Softball Schedule (Home vs. Adams State)
- Saturday, March 7 – 12 p.m.
- Saturday, March 7 – 2 p.m.
- Sunday, March 8 – 11 a.m.

With postseason basketball concluded and outdoor track on the horizon, this weekend marks a pivotal stretch for both baseball and softball as conference races begin to take shape.
