This Week in Roadrunners Athletics

DENVER — It's one of the busiest and most exciting weekends of the spring for MSU Denver Athletics, as baseball, softball, and outdoor track and field are all in action—including the only weekend this semester where both the baseball and softball teams are home at the same time.

Baseball
Colorado Christian vs. MSU Denver, Friday 4/10 @ 6 p.m.
Colorado Christian vs. MSU Denver, Saturday 4/11 @ 1 p.m.
Colorado Christian vs. MSU Denver, Saturday 4/11 @ 4 p.m.
Colorado Christian vs. MSU Denver, Sunday 4/12 @ 12 p.m.

The MSU Denver baseball team brings plenty of momentum back home for a four-game RMAC showdown with Colorado Christian.

The Roadrunners enter the weekend riding a 14-game winning streak and remain a perfect 16-0 in conference play, sitting second in the RMAC behind No. 1 Colorado Mesa. Offensively, MSU Denver has been one of the most dangerous teams in the country, leading NCAA Division II with a .369 team batting average.

At the center of that production is Noah Wicks, who continues to pile up accolades. The junior catcher was named RMAC Player of the Week on Tuesday before earning Division II NCBWA South Central Region Hitter of the Week honors on Wednesday. Wicks hit an incredible .765 over the weekend (13-for-17) and now ranks second nationally with a .495 batting average.

The four-game series begins Friday at 6 p.m., continues with a Saturday doubleheader at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and wraps up Sunday at noon.

Softball
Regis vs. MSU Denver, Friday 4/10 @ 4 p.m.
Regis vs. MSU Denver, Friday 4/10 @ 6 p.m.
Regis vs. MSU Denver, Saturday 4/11 @ 12 p.m.
Regis vs. MSU Denver, Saturday 4/11 @ 2 p.m.

Softball also returns home this weekend for a four-game rivalry series against Regis.

The Roadrunners enter at 24-14 overall and 17-11 in RMAC play, looking to snap a five-game skid. A return to home field could be just what MSU Denver needs—the team boasts a conference-best 17-1 record at home this season.

Much like the baseball team, the Roadrunners are powered by one of the top hitters in the conference in Cheyenne Prieto. Prieto leads the RMAC in batting average (.545), on-base percentage (.637), and OPS (1.516), continuing to anchor the lineup.

The series begins Friday with games at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader at noon and 2 p.m.

Outdoor Track & Field
Mines Midweek and Multi, Wednesday 4/8 and Thursday 3/9
Jo Meaker Classic, Thursday 4/9 and Friday 4/10
Mines Kit Mayer, Saturday 4/11

MSU Denver outdoor track and field will once again be spread across multiple meets, competing in three different events over the course of the week.

The Roadrunners begin at the Mines Midweek and Multi in Golden, Colorado on Wednesday and Thursday before sending a group to the Jo Meaker Classic in Canyon, Texas on Thursday and Friday, hosted by West Texas A&M. The team will then close out the weekend back in Golden at the Mines Kit Mayer Classic on Saturday.

MSU Denver is coming off a strong weekend highlighted by Odone Omofoma, who set the program's outdoor record in the women's 200 meters with a time of 24.56 while finishing second in the race.

With conference races heating up and postseason implications looming, it's a pivotal weekend across the board as the Roadrunners look to build momentum at home and on the road.
