DENVER — Another postseason accolade rolled in for MSU Denver softball Monday morning as senior standout Cheyenne Prieto earned First Team All-South Central Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association as a utility player.
Prieto's selection added yet another major recognition to a historic 2026 campaign that established her as one of the top offensive players in both the RMAC and the South Central Region.
The senior turned in one of the most dominant seasons in program history, leading the RMAC in both on-base percentage (.597) and OPS (1.408) while ranking second in batting average (.476) and third in slugging percentage (.811).
Prieto also finished among the conference leaders in multiple offensive categories, including hits, home runs and walks. Her 42 walks led the RMAC and highlighted her ability to consistently create offense for the Roadrunners throughout the spring.
Her remarkable season also rewrote portions of the MSU Denver record book.
Prieto's .597 on-base percentage established a new single-season program record, while her 42 walks also set a new school record. Additionally, her .476 batting average now ranks third all-time in program history, while her .811 slugging percentage ranks fifth.
The D2CCA all-region honor further solidified Prieto's standing among the elite players in the South Central Region after helping lead the Roadrunners through another strong season in the RMAC.
Her First Team selection also continued an impressive postseason awards stretch for MSU Denver softball following one of the best offensive seasons ever produced by a Roadrunner.
