PUEBLO, Colo. – Noel Lopez and
Colin Szuch posted quality times in the 10,000 meters to lead MSU Denver on Saturday at the Spank Blasing Open.
Lopez finished fourth in 32 minutes, 23.48 seconds to improve upon his personal best while remaining sixth on MSU Denver's all-time performer list in the event. Szuch was fifth in 32:26.12 to move into seventh among all Roadrunners to have competed in the 10,000.
Women's standouts included
Allyssa Romero, whose personal-best 200 time of 25.34 was good for 12
th place and put her in a third-place tie in program history in the event. Romero also ran the opening leg of the 4x400 relay team that placed second in 4:07.31. Combining with
Kamryn Scott,
Audrynn Street and
Raygen Ivins, the unit ranks seventh on MSU Denver's performer list.
Three events where MSU Denver doesn't often compete saw athletes make a mark. In the men's 3000 steeplechase,
Yonatan Kefle placed seventh in 10:40.54 and now ranks eighth all-time in the event for MSU Denver. On the women's side,
Audrey Orstead finished seventh in 12:45.92 and now is the eighth-best Roadrunner ever. Finally, in the women's high jump,
Jocelyn Korbe was 13th at 1.45 meters (4 feet, 9 inches) and is now third on the MSU Denver individual list.
Other highlights included, for the men:
- Anthony Martinez was sixth in the 110 hurdles in 15.15.
- Ethan Loper ran solid times in the 100 (11.02) and 200 (22.00) to place 18th and 11th, respectively.
- Brandon Bodner was 10th in the 800 (1:55.18).
- PJ Guidry was 12th in the triple jump at 13.23 meters (43-5).
