ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Isabel Botero shot a 1-over-par 73 and is in fourth place after the opening day of the Nick Turner Invitational.
 
Botero birdied the first and 18^th holes and added another birdie in between on the 6,077-yard Arroyo del Oso Golf Course.
 
"Isa played great today," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "She was really steady with a lot of pars and just a few blemishes on the card. We are very happy for her. She's worked hard and it's so fun to see her success."
 
As a team, the Roadrunners are in ninth place in the 10-team field after recording a four-player score of 28-over 316. The Roadrunners are just 15 strokes out of third place.
 
Vaijayanti Bharkhada shot 79 and is tied for 38^th, while Sydney Eye is tied for 40^th at 9-over. Neige Dunn had the team's No. 4 score at 11-over.
 
"Overall we didn't have a very good day and need to make some adjustments for tomorrow," Ferguson said. "Luckily it's a two-day event and we have time to move up the leaderboard."
