ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Isabel Botero earned her second top-10 finish of the fall season as the MSU Denver golf team moved up one spot to finish eighth on Tuesday at the Nick Turner Invitational.
Botero followed up her first-round 73 with a 3-over par 75 that included 16 pars to tie for ninth at 4-over 148.
"Isa had a great fall and topped it off with another stellar tournament," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "I'm really proud of how she has kept her game together, and it's great to see her with another top-10 finish."
The Roadrunners improved their second-round score by 10 strokes for a second straight tournament, carding a four-player score of 18-over 306, as they finished at 46-over 622.
Mackenzie Carpenter and
Neige Dunn each shot 4-over 76 – Carpenter matched her best score of the fall, while Dunn turned in her second-best round.
Vaijayanti Bharkhada shot a second straight 79 and finished the tournament tied for 36
th at 14-over
"Today overall was better as a team," Ferguson said. "It was nice to see a comeback by the girls. We unfortunately had gotten ourselves in too big of a hole, but there were some good things to take to the spring."
