@MSUDenverWGOLF: Botero Leads Roadrunners to Tie for Fifth Place at Halfway Point

She's tied for 15th individually after shooting 79

PUEBLO, Colo. – Led by a 7-over-par 79 from Isabel Botero, the MSU Denver women's golf team is tied for fifth place at the halfway point of the Proal Invitational.

The Roadrunners compiled a four-player team score of 37-over 325 and are five strokes behind the fourth-place hosts of CSU Pueblo and six behind third-place South Dakota Mines.

"Today wasn't quite the day we were hoping for," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "We struggled with speed control on the greens – they are pretty quick and we didn't adjust well to that. In relation to the field, we aren't in a bad spot and have some room to improve tomorrow, we just need to tighten up the short game and eliminate the trouble shots."

Botero had two birdies in her round over the 5,818-yard Pueblo Country Club course and its tied for 15th individually.

Vaijayanti Bharkhada shot 81, Sydney Eye 82 and Neige Dunn 83.
