SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Vaijayanti Bharkhada and
Isabel Botero both shot second-round 77s as MSU Denver moved up to seventh place Monday at the Wasatch Invitational.
Bharkhada's round put her tied for 13
th overall with a two-round total of 13-over, while Botero is tied for 18
th at 15-over.
MSU Denver's third scorer Monday was
Mackenzie Carpenter, who shot 79 and is now 45
th at 22-over.
"V, Isa and Mack all had good days today, better than yesterday for sure," MSU Denver coach Stef Ferguson said. "But we just made a lot of bogeys and short-game mistakes. This team is capable of so much more than this, so it's frustrating but they have it in them.
"Our fourth score is still really hurting us, but every player we have is capable of really good things. Wust have to be patient."
The Roadrunners had a four-player score of 317, seven strokes better than Sunday's opening round.
Sydney Eye is tied for 28
th at 18-over.
The tournament concludes Tuesday.
