COLORADO SPRINGS – Redshirt freshman Odone Omofoma led the way for the Roadrunners on day two of the UCCS Pre-Holiday Invitational and Multi in Colorado Springs.
Omofoma competed in the 60 meters, the 200 meters and the 4x400 relay and finished third, second and third respectively.
The Greeley native finished third in the women's 60-meter dash, crossing the line in a time of 7.78 meters. That time is eighth all-time in program history. She would then finish second in the women's 200-meter dash with a 25.95 mark before helping the 4x400 relay team of
Sidnei Cumings, Nalaei Sowell,
Jessica Hobson and herself to third place in a time of 4:06.19, which is also eighth all-time.
Sowell raced to a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 26.06 seconds.
The Roadrunners had finishes of third, fourth and fifth in the men's 60-meter hurdles. Sophomore
Trenton Smith ran to a third-place finish in a time of 8.44 seconds. Sophomore
Aden Guenther crossed the line at 8.71 seconds while junior Sean Pacenka came in at fifth with a 8.73 time.
Senior
Maya Ries kicked off her indoor track and field season with a 9.06 second finish in the women's 60-meter hurdles.
Up next for the indoor track and field team is the Potts Invitational in Boulder on January 17 and January 18.
