GOLDEN, Colo – Senior
Jocelyn Korbe led the Roadrunners in their opening meet of the 2024-2025 Indoor Track and Field season.
The Brighton native broke the school record in the high jump while competing in the pentathlon at the Mines Alumni Classic on Friday. Korbe reached 1.53 meters in the event to break her own record of 1.49 when she competed in Spearfish, South Dakota earlier this year.
Korbe finished fifth overall in the pentathlon with a score of 3,005 points, which is also a new Roadrunners record. She passed Jade Marvel, who previously scored 2,968 points in December of 2022 in Colorado Springs.

Jaelyn Korbe also competed in the pentathlon and she finished 10th with 1,890 points, while fellow freshman
Sidnei Cumings finished ninth with 2,031 points.
Also on the women's side, senior
Lushous Davis finished fifth in the shot put throwing for 11.80 meters in the sixth round.
In the women's long jump, junior
Taylor Weber reached 5.39 meters on her third round jump, which actually placed her third all-time in program history. Sophomore
Breauna Sorensen was right behind Weber, jumping for 5.23 meters, which was fourth all-time.
The men's team was led by junior
Brandon Simpson, who threw for 13.15 meters in the shot put and did so on his first throw. That placed the Arvada native in eighth place, while freshman
Riley Shean placed 11
th hitting 11.29 meters in the first round.
Sophomore
Isaiah Williams finished 12
th in the long jump reaching 5.84 meters.
The Roadrunners will continue their opening meet for day two of the Mines Alumni Classic tomorrow in Golden.
