@MSUDenverMBB: Lacy Earns RMAC Defensive Player of the Week Award

Forward averaged 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots in pair of wins

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – MSU Denver forward Mario Lacy, Jr., has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week for men's basketball.
 
As the Roadrunners earned two quality home victories to move into a tie for fourth in the RMAC, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots to go along with 13.5 points per game on 52.4 percent shooting from the field (11 of 21).
 
Lacy had 12 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots in an 83-80 win over South Dakota Mines, and had 15 points, eight rebounds and two more blocked shots in a convincing 75-58 win over Black Hills State.
 
For the season, Lacy leads the RMAC in rebounding (8.7 per game) while ranking 2nd in field goal percentage (61.7).
 
For his career, he has 1,402 points and 970 rebounds. He's third among all active Division II players in rebounds, and is seventh with a career field goal percentage of 65.3.
