PITTSBURG, Kan. – Allyssa Romero broke her own school record in the 200 meters, finishing just ahead of
Naleia Sowell – who tied Romero's old mark – to highlight MSU Denver's efforts Friday at the Gorilla Classic.
Romero's 18
th-place time of 25.36 seconds is .01 better than her old record of 25.37, which is what Sowell ran for 19
th place.
Also Friday,
Taylor Engram moved into eighth individually in MSU Denver history in the women's 5,000 meters after finishing 14
th in 18:15.99.
For the men, highlights included
Owen Clarke's 38
th-place finish in the 200 of 22.68, and
Anthony Martinez placing eighth in prelims in the 60 hurdles in 8.36.
The Roadrunners are back in action tomorrow.
