Box Score LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Thursday's second game of a softball doubleheader between MSU Denver and sixth-ranked Colorado Christian has been suspended due to rain and lightning.
The game will resume Friday at 9:30 a.m., before the teams' doubleheader scheduled for 11 a.m.
In Thursday's opening game, MSU Denver dropped a heart-breaking decision.
Jenna Medhus' grand slam in the top of the seventh gave the Roadrunners a 6-4 lead, but Colorado Christian rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win it 7-6.
In the second game, MSU Denver is in the middle of a rally in the top of the fourth inning. Having already scored a run to tie the game 1-1, the Roadrunners have runners on first and third with one out.
There were two lengthy delays due to weather before the decision was made to suspend play. All-Star Park, Colorado Christian's home field, does not have lights.
In the opener, Medhus was 3-for-3 with five RBIs and also pitched the first five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits.
