KEARNEY, Neb. – Taylor Engram set the program record in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase for the third consecutive week to lead three MSU Denver athletes competing Saturday at the Loper Twilight last chance meet.
Engram won the event in 11 minutes, 3.08 seconds. Though the raw time is the best in program history, it's still short of Engram's best altitude-converted time of 10:51.12 that she was hoping to improve upon in an effort to enhance her chances of qualifying for NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals.
Also turning in strong efforts but not improving upon their best times were
Maya Ries in the 100 hurdles and
Naleia Sowell in the 400 meters.
Ries finished third in the hurdles in 14.48 seconds (her best converted time is 14.03), while Sowell placed fourth in the 400 in 54.94 (her best converted time is 54.41).
