Men's A team and B team finish 3rd and 7th respectively in 4X400 Relay

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo -- Naleia Sowell once again shined in the sprinting events competing at the UCCS Invitational in Colorado Springs on Saturday. 
 
On the women's side, the Roadrunners were led by Sowell, who broke the tape in the 200 meters, finished in a time of 25.90 seconds. She previously ran a 25.72 earlier this season at the Potts Invitational. Jessica Hobson finished fifth in the 200 meters and did so in a time of 27.19.
 
Sowell also finished first in the women's 400 meter race, crossing the line in a time of 57.36 seconds. She owns the record hitting 55.94 seconds at the Potts invitational earlier this year. 
 
Audrynn Street finished in fifth place in the women's mile in a time of 5:28.10. Marin Smith came in at sixth place (5:28.72) while Tanis Chavez came in at ninth place (5:34.74). 

Street also competed in the women's 800 meters and finished fifth with a time of 2:20.31, while Chavez completed the race in 2:25.14 earning 11th place. 
 
Maya Ries ran a 8.98 time in the women's 60 meter hurdles, while Lushous Davis finished eighth in both the shot put (39' 4") and in the weight throw (49' 7.25").
 
For the men, Jacob Simpson crossed the line in first place running a 23.17 second time in the 200-meter dash. 
 
Kenny Greene, who broke the record in the 400 meter earlier this year (48.01), ran a 49.43 in on Saturday and finished fourth. Owen Clarke finished ninth with a time of 51.33.
 
In the men's 800 meters, Abrehem Martinez was the Roadrunners top finisher crossing the line in a time of 1:58.79. Elijah Garcia came in at seventh place with a 2:00.52 time and Eisen Dacus was right behind Garcia finishing eighth at 2:00.98. 
 
The Roadrunners placed two teams in the top-7 in the 4X400 Relay. Team A, that featured Owen Clarke, Abrehem Martinez, Kevin Tashie and Kenny Greene, would finish third overall crossing the line in a time of 3:25.91. Team B of Jacob Simpson, Sean Pacenka, Brandon Aviles and Asend Ashby would finish with a time of 3:30.81 earning seventh place. 
 
The Roadrunners will next compete in the Mines Winter Classic in Golden next Friday on January 31.
