COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the second time this season, MSU Denver freshman Karyna Werley has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Setter of the Week, after leading the No. 12 Roadrunners to another perfect weekend that extended their sweep streak to eight matches.

Werley guided the Roadrunners' offense to back-to-back three-set wins over Colorado Christian and CSU Pueblo, helping MSU Denver improve to 17-3 overall and 9-1 in RMAC play while remaining tied for first place in the conference standings. 

The Roadrunners have now won 24 consecutive sets during their eight-match win streak — their longest winning streak since last season when they won 14 in a row.

In Friday's sweep of Colorado Christian, Werley orchestrated an offense that hit a blistering .397 as a team, totaling 14 assists, two service aces, and eight kills on a .571 hitting percentage.

She followed that up Saturday with another standout performance against CSU Pueblo, recording 23 assists, nine kills, and five digs while directing an attack that hit .325.

The Roadrunners' 3-0 win over CSU Pueblo marked their 25th victory in 26 all-time meetings with the ThunderWolves and handed Pueblo just its third RMAC loss of the season, giving MSU Denver valuable separation in the race for the top spot in the standings.

Werley, a freshman from New Mexico, previously earned RMAC Setter of the Week honors in late September and continues to be one of the league's most efficient and dynamic setters, blending precision setting with offensive production at the net.

MSU Denver will look to keep its momentum rolling when it returns to action Thursday at 6 p.m. for a non-conference home matchup against Colorado Mesa at the Auraria Event Center.
