COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- After a dominant three-match stretch that saw MSU Denver volleyball roll through conference opponents without dropping a set, sophomore middle blocker Alyssa Boyte has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding all-around performance.

Boyte anchored the No. 12-ranked Roadrunners' front line during sweeps over UCCS, Black Hills State, and South Dakota Mines, helping MSU Denver extend its winning streak while asserting itself as one of the conference's top defensive units. Over the three-match homestand, Boyte tallied a conference-best 16 total blocks, including a season-high nine blocks in the victory over South Dakota Mines — the Roadrunners' second-most blocks as a team in any match this season.

Her presence at the net was felt in every outing. Boyte started the week with seven kills and two blocks in MSU Denver's sweep of UCCS, then matched her offensive production with seven kills and another pair of blocks in a commanding win over Black Hills State. She capped the week with a stellar two-way performance against South Dakota Mines, posting seven kills on .294 hitting while adding one solo and eight assisted blocks.

In total, Boyte finished the week with 21 kills and 16 blocks, ranking among the RMAC's top performers in both categories. Her consistency and defensive dominance were key in MSU Denver's three consecutive sweeps, marking the Roadrunners' most efficient stretch of the season.

The recognition marks the second RMAC weekly award of Boyte's career, after taking home the honors at the end of September during the 2024 campaign.
