DENVER — The NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Selection Show brought big news to downtown Denver on Monday evening: No. 9-ranked MSU Denver has officially clinched the No. 1 seed in the NCAA South Central Region and will host the regional tournament at the Auraria Event Center from December 4–6.
MSU Denver will face off against a familiar foe in the first round, the Colorado Mesa Mavericks, who earned the final bid in the South Central region.
The Roadrunners enter the postseason as one of the hottest teams in the nation, riding a 17-match winning streak and coming off their second consecutive RMAC Tournament Championship on Saturday night.
This year marks only the third time in program history that MSU Denver will host the NCAA South Central Regional — previously doing so in 2021 and 2022. The Roadrunners advanced to the regional finals both of those seasons.
Monday's announcement also officially extends one of the most remarkable streaks in Division II volleyball: MSU Denver has now qualified for the NCAA Tournament 25 years in a row, a run that remains one of the longest active streaks in the country.
Head coach Jenny Glenn's squad has been nearly untouchable throughout the fall, posting a 26–3 record, capturing the RMAC regular-season title, and running through the conference tournament with back-to-back nights of electric home crowds.
Behind an elite blocking unit, the RMAC's Defensive Player of the Year, and one of the most balanced offenses in the region, the Roadrunners have positioned themselves as a legitimate national title contender.
MSU Denver will open its NCAA Tournament run on Thursday, December 4, at the Auraria Event Center.
