GOLDEN, Colo. — MSU Denver Track & Field opened the 2025–26 indoor season Friday at the Colorado School of Mines Alumni Classic, competing in the first wave of field events before the meet resumes Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

The Roadrunners began their year with solid early-season marks across the shot put and long jump, giving several returners and newcomers their first competition reps of the winter.

Women's Field Results
In the women's shot put, Raziah Hyslop led the Roadrunners with a strong sixth-place finish, throwing 11.93 meters (39'1.75") to open her season on a high note. Sidnei Cummings placed 10th at 9.61 meters (31'6.50"), followed closely by Jaelyn Korbe, who finished 11th with a mark of 9.57 meters (31'4.75").

The women also made their season debut in the long jump, where Breauna Sorensen paced MSU Denver with a jump of 5.16 meters (16'11.25"), placing 15th in a deep field. Kathryn Rust was 17th with 5.01 meters (16'5.25"), while Ajla Ceric (18th, 4.91 meters / 16'1.50") and Chloe Meldahl (19th, 4.78 meters / 15'8.25") rounded out the group in their first outing of the year.

Men's Field Results
The men's shot put group saw four Roadrunners competing, with Andre Henry leading the way at 13.14 meters (43'1.50"), finishing ninth overall. He was followed closely by Jacob Bowler, who placed 10th with a throw of 12.36 meters (40'6.75"). Brandon Simpson finished 11th at 12.07 meters (39'7.25"), and Nolan Hanson was 12th with a mark of 11.97 meters (39'3.25").

The Roadrunners return to action Saturday morning for the conclusion of the Alumni Classic, with running events and additional field competitions beginning at 9:30 a.m.

MSU Denver will look to build on Friday's performance as more athletes make their season debuts in Golden.
