@MSUDenverXCTF: Greene Shatters Another Program Record, Roadrunners Close Out Colorado Classic

BOULDER, Colo. – The MSU Denver indoor track and field team wrapped up competition at the Colorado Classic on Saturday afternoon, closing the two-day meet with a strong showing in the track events and a pair of school records at the University of Colorado's indoor facility.

The Roadrunners set three school records across Friday and Saturday, highlighted on the final day by Kenny Greene's performance in the men's 200 meters and a historic run from the men's 4x400 relay.

Greene delivered one of the top performances of the meet for MSU Denver, finishing second overall out of 63 competitors in the 200 meters with a time of 21.20, breaking the program's school record in the event. He capped off a standout weekend by later anchoring the men's 4x400 relay.

The quartet of Kevin Tashie, Owen Clarke, Jacob Simpson, and Greene clocked a 3:15.60 in the men's 4x400 relay, placing fourth out of 12 teams and shattering the previous school record to close the meet on a high note.

In the hurdle events, Anthony Martinez led the Roadrunners in the men's 60-meter hurdles, qualifying for the final with an 8.30 in prelims before placing seventh in the final at 8.33. Aden Guenther, Sean Pecenka, Brandon Aviles, and Joseph Barlow also competed in a deep field of 34 athletes. On the women's side, Jaelyn Korbe represented MSU Denver in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Roadrunners showed depth in the sprint events as well. Kevin Tashie paced MSU Denver in the men's 60 meters with a 6.99, while Jessica Hobson led the women with an 8.03. In the men's 200 meters, MSU Denver placed five athletes inside the top 30, led by Greene's record-setting run, with Owen Clarke, Tashie, De'Aundrae Harris, and Mekhi Hubbard all posting competitive times.

Middle- and long-distance efforts rounded out the day, with Eisen Dacus and Parker Davidson competing in the men's mile, Avanti Wadhwa representing the Roadrunners in both the women's mile and 800 meters, and Abi Read finishing 11th in the women's 5,000 meters. Constance

O'Neal led MSU Denver in the women's 3,000 meters, placing 13th out of 32.

The women's 4x400 relay teams also turned in solid performances, as Jessica Hobson, Peyton Meier, Kathryn Rust, and Arianna Toaipa placed third with a time of 4:03.38, while a second MSU Denver squad gained valuable experience to close the meet.

With multiple podium finishes and school records falling over the weekend, the Roadrunners leave Boulder with momentum as they continue the indoor season.
