DENVER — MSU Denver Athletics saw its red-hot stretch at the plate recognized Tuesday afternoon, as Noah Wicks was named RMAC Player of the Week following a dominant performance in the Roadrunners' series sweep of New Mexico Highlands.
Wicks powered the MSU Denver offense to a perfect 4-0 weekend, helping extend the team's winning streak to 14 games while improving to 16-0 in RMAC play. The junior catcher put together one of the most impressive individual weeks in the conference this season, going 13-for-18 (.722) at the plate with 12 runs scored, eight RBIs, three doubles, and a triple.
The weekend was highlighted by a historic performance in the opening game of the series, when Wicks went a perfect 6-for-6 with five RBIs and four runs scored. He finished just a home run shy of the cycle, recording the most hits in a single game by a Roadrunner since last season when Gavin Schmeh hit for the cycle with six hits.
Wicks stayed hot throughout the series, including a flawless 4-for-4 performance in the final game, where he crossed the plate five times as part of a record-setting offensive outburst.
MSU Denver erupted for 29 runs in that contest—the most scored in a game this season by any RMAC team—capping off a weekend in which the Roadrunners overwhelmed New Mexico Highlands from start to finish.
Through his standout performances, Wicks has cemented himself as one of the top hitters in the conference. He currently leads the RMAC in batting average (.495), on-base percentage (.597), and OPS (1.480), anchoring a lineup that continues to produce at an elite level.
With Wicks leading the charge, MSU Denver continues to roll through conference play, combining dominant pitching with explosive offense as it builds momentum deeper into the season.
