USAFA, Colo. - Metropolitan State University of Denver opened the 2014-15 indoor track season on Friday at the Air Force Holiday Open.
Women's freshman
Morgan Myers (Thornton, Colo./Horizon H.S.) broke the school's 500-meters record, finishing second in 1:19.21.
Amber Sborov (Greenwood Village, Colo./Cherry Creek H.S.) came in fifth in the event in 1:25.33.
In the 3k,
Victoria Alcala (Salinas, Calif./Everett Alvarez H.S.) won the race in 10:55.21 and
Jamilah Tanae Rashid (Denver/Lincoln H.S.) was second in 10:59.46.
Sarah Hughes (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield H.S.) also placed second in the triple jump.
On the men's side,
Jon Clarke (Paterson, N.J./East Stroudsburg H.S.) had a second-place finish in the 300 meters in 35.22 in a field of 34 runners.
Julian Dulaney (Louisville, Colo./Monarch H.S.) was eighth in 36.28. Dulaney also placed third in the triple jump at 13.29 meters.
The Roadrunners will be off until Jan. 15 when they return to Air Force for the All-Comers meet.
