Denver – The Metropolitan State University indoor track and field teams competed in two meets on Saturday at the New Mexico Classic and at the CU Invite.
At the New Mexico Classic
Brandon Krage (Conifer, Colo./Conifer H.S.) and
Sam Berg (Longmont, Colo./Mountain View H.S.) competed in the men's mile. Berg finished in 14th place with a time of 4:26.06. Krage ran the mile finished in 16th place with a time of 4:28:92.
Said Moreno (Westminster, Colo./Westminster H.S.) competed in the men's 400-meter dash finishing in 25th place with a time of 51.02.
Erica Ruiz (Rohnert Park, Calif./Rancho Cotate H.S. ) and
Rachel Shimabukuro (Hollister, Calif./San Benito H.S.) competed in the women's mile. Ruiz finished in 18th place with a time of 5:25.36. Â Shimabukuro finished in 27th place with a time of 5:37.67.
At the CU Invite
Christian Culpepper (Fort Worth, Texas/North Crowley H.S.) competed in the men's miles where he finished 4:45.44.
Zach Boyd (),
Darren Harder (Denver, Colo. /John F. Kennedy H.S.), and
Jamal Cosby () all competed in the men's 400-meter dash.
Zach Boyd () finished in 19th place with a time of 51.62. Cosby finished in 26th place with a time of 55.54. Harder finished in 55.60.
Harder and Cosby competed in the men's 200-meter dash. Cosby finished in 30th place with a time of 24.97 while Harder finished in 31st place with a time of 25.46.
Keyonna Gouty () competed in the women's 200-meter dash where she placed 20th with a time of 28.04.
Gouty and Leslie Reyes competed in the women's 400-meter dash. Gouty placed 23rd with a time of 1:03.50. Reyes placed 27th with a time of 1:06.68.
Tina Maas (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley H.S.),
Jessie Chappa (Parker, Colo./Chaparral H.S.),
Cindy Reyes (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rampart H.S.), and Jacqueline Holloway competed in the women's 800-meter dash. Maas finished in 26th place with a time of 2:29.61. Chappa finished in 29th place with a time of 2:31.60. Reyes finished in 31st place with a time of 2:42.38. Holloway finished in 32nd place with a time of 3:02.73.
Brittney Kocman () and
Mali Smith (Tucson, Ariz./Pusch Ridge Christian Academy) competed in the women's mile. Kocman finished in 18th place with a time of 5:58.28. Smith finished in 19th place with a time of 6:03.14.
MSU Denver will return to the track on February 11 when the team travels to Alamosa, Colo. to face Adams State.
