SEATTLE - Metro State track athlete Nick Kadlec (Niwot, Colo./Silver Creek H.S.) won his heat of the 5,000 meters on Friday night at the Husky Classic in Seattle.

Kadlec's time of 14:47.92 missed a provisional qualifying time by less than one second.

Kirk Harvey (Lafayette, Colo./Centaurus H.S.) will compete in the 3k on Saturday to try and improve his current provisional time.
