Golden, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's track and field teams each placed sixth at the Colorado School of Mines/Nature's Bakery Invitational on Saturday.  The men's team scored 26 points and the women's team scored 43 points.

Junior Sarah Hughes was the only Roadrunner to compete in field events.  Hughes won the triple jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships after posting a mark of 11.94 meters (39'2.25").  She also tied for 18^th in the long jump after posting a mark of 5.12 meters (16'9.75"). Hughes' triple jump distance broke the previous MSU Denver record of 11.74.

Junior Lily Armijo and freshman Keyonna Gouty competed in the 100-meter dash.  Armijo placed sixth (13.46) and Gouty eighth (13.65).

In the women's 200-meter dash, Gouty ran a time of 27.61 and Armijo ran a time of 28.47.

The 800 meters saw four Roadrunners compete.  Junior Rachel Shimabukuro led the way with a time of 2:23.62 while freshman Sydney Pruett posted a time of 2:26.53.  Freshman Tina Maas ran a time of 2:30.50 and freshman Lauren Samuelson posted a time of 2:36.08.

Senior Lauren Silacci placed third in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:49.21.  Sophomore Mali Smith posted a time of 5:10.20 and senior Karina Sanchez ran a time of 5:16.57.  Freshman Jazlyn Padilla-Nahe rounded out the field for the Roadrunners with a time of 5:32.62.

Freshman Sabrina Rautter competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.  Rautter placed third in a time of 12:29.53.

The women's 1,600-meter relay team placed fifth with a time of 4:29.22.

On the men's side, in the 100-meter dash, sophomore Jullian Dulaney placed eighth in a time of 11.54.  Freshman Darren Harder and junior Glen Taylor posted times of 11.92 and 15.41, respectively.

The men's 200-meter dash saw four Roadrunners compete.  Freshmen Zach Boyd and Said Moreno ran times of 25.67 and 25.69.  Dulaney and Harder also posted times of 26.78 and 31.87.

Senior Erik Boss led the way in the 800-meter run.  Boss ran a time of 1:59.02 followed by sophomore Austin Ard (2:03.40) and freshman Kyle Jones (2:04.39).

MSU Denver had two runners compete in the 1,500 meters.  Sophomore Ivan Rangel ran a time of 4:19.25 to place sixth and freshman Christian Culpepper ran a time of 4:22.37.

Freshman Luis Ronquillo and junior Chris Davis each ran in the 5,000 meters.  Ronquillo placed fourth in a time of 15:57.55 and Davis placed seventh in a time of 16:28.75.

The men's 1,600-meter relay team also ran a time of 3:38.63.

MSU Denver will close out the regular season at the Colorado School of Mines Pre-Conference Invitational on April 30 in Golden, Colo.
