DENVER – It's going to be just like old times.
MSU Denver has added a non-conference volleyball home match against long-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference rival Nebraska-Kearney.
The Lopers, national finalists in 2019, are ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II. They'll come to the Auraria Event Center for an 11 a.m. matchup with the Roadrunners on Feb. 13.
UNK (21 straight) and MSU Denver (20) are two of four teams who have played in at least 20 straight NCAA Division II National Tournaments.
UNK moved from the RMAC to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association after the 2011 volleyball season, and the teams have played only once since, in 2013.
RMAC championships were frequently on the line when these two programs squared off over the years.
While UNK is currently ranked No. 1, MSU Denver was among teams receiving votes in the AVCA national preseason coaches poll. The Roadrunners, picked to share the RMAC regular-season title in that preseason coaches poll, opened the season with two wins, including a four-set win over No. 19 Colorado School of Mines, on Sunday.
Currently no spectators are allowed to attend MSU Denver contests, but all events are streamed live and on demand on
RoadrunnersTV.
