@MSUDenverVB: Sportswomen of Colorado Recognize Glenn, Helf, and 2025 National Championship Team

DENVER — MSU Denver volleyball earned statewide recognition this week as Sportswomen of Colorado honored the Roadrunners' historic 2025 season, recognizing the team, head coach Jenny Glenn, and outside hitter Annika Helf in its annual awards release announced Friday afternoon.

Head coach Jenny Glenn was named Coach of the Year, sharing the honor with the MSU Denver volleyball program as College Team of the Year, after guiding the Roadrunners to an unprecedented championship run. Glenn led MSU Denver to its first NCAA Division II Volleyball National Championship, marking the first volleyball national title ever won by an RMAC program and the first NCAA volleyball national championship by a Colorado school. The title capped a dominant season that also included RMAC Regular Season, RMAC Tournament, NCAA South Central Regional, and NCAA National Championships.

Under Glenn's leadership, MSU Denver posted a program-record 32 wins during the 2025 season, closed the year on a 23-match winning streak, and recorded 30 consecutive set wins between Oct. 4 and Nov. 1. The national championship marked the fifth national title in MSU Denver Athletics history and the program's first since 2006, further cementing Glenn's legacy. The honor also added to her résumé as a three-time AVCA South Central Region Coach of the Year (2016, 2021, 2025).

Senior Annika Helf was recognized as the Sportswomen of Colorado Volleyball – College Division II honoree, following one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history. Helf led the Roadrunners with 403 kills, ranking second in the RMAC and 44th nationally in NCAA Division II. Her standout performance included a 30-kill match on Sept. 12, the most by any RMAC player during the 2025 season and tied for 13th nationally.

Helf collected a long list of postseason accolades, including All-RMAC First Team, All-RMAC Academic First Team, AVCA All-America First Team, AVCA All-South Central Region First Team, D2CCA All-South Central Region First Team, NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team, RMAC All-Tournament Team, and Colorado Premier Challenge All-Tournament Team, playing a pivotal role in the Roadrunners' championship run.

As a team, MSU Denver volleyball was honored for achieving numerous program and conference firsts, including the first NCAA Regional Championship in program history, the second RMAC program ever to reach a national championship match, and its ninth RMAC Tournament Championship, the most by any RMAC volleyball program.

The Sportswomen of Colorado Awards Celebration will take place March 8 in Denver, where MSU Denver volleyball's historic season will be formally celebrated among the state's top athletes, coaches, and programs, further recognizing a year that redefined both the Roadrunners and Division II volleyball in Colorado.
