INDIANAPOLIS – After seeing its 24-match winning streak come to an end, MSU Denver slid just two spots in the AVCA Division II volleyball national poll and landed at No. 3 on Monday.
After five weeks at No. 1 for the first time in program history, the Roadrunners now trail new No. 1 Central Missouri (a team it swept in September) and No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino, the 2019 national champions who finished seventh at the Colorado Premier Challenge that MSU Denver won in September.
MSU Denver still received four first-place votes after getting all but one first-place vote in each of the last two polls.
Colorado School of Mines, which knocked off MSU Denver 3-2 in the RMAC Tournament championship match, jumped two spots to No. 8 nationally.
MSU Denver is set to learn of its destination and opponent for the NCAA Tournament later Monday.
