@MSUDenverVB: Hladky Named Best of the Best Among Academic All-Americans

Her second straight Academic All-America Award includes selection as Team Member of the Year

ORLANDO, Fla. – MSU Denver's Rylee Hladky has been named the NCAA Division II Academic All-America Team Member of the Year by College Sports Communicators.

Hladky was also named to the CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America first team for the second consecutive year. The Team Member of the Year Award is the result of a separate vote which recognizes Hladky as the top student-athlete among all Academic All-Americans in her volleyball division.

MSU Denver's second Academic All-American (and first two-time selection) in volleyball, Hladky is now the entire program's second-ever Academic All-America Team Member of the Year: Marc Herschberger of the Roadrunners' men's soccer team was similarly honored in 2012.

Hladky, who has a 3.92 cumulative grade point average while majoring in mechanical engineering, has accumulated an impressive list of honors both on and off the court.

She is a two-time All-America first team selection by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and has twice been named All-America by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (first team in 2021, second team in 2022).

She has been named the South Central Region Player of the Year the past two seasons by the D2CCA and earned all-region first team from both the AVCA and D2CCA organizations in both 2021 and 2022. She's a two-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a three-time All-RMAC first team selection (she was on the All-RMAC second team in 2019).

She is a three-time Academic All-RMAC first team selection, and was the RMAC's Academic Player of the Year in 2021. She also earned the RMAC's Summit Award – highest GPA among competitors at the league tournament site – in 2021.

The MVP of the 2022 RMAC Tournament, she has been named to the South Central Regional All-Tournament team the past two seasons.

The No. 1 option for the team ranked No. 1 for the final four weeks of the regular season (the Roadrunners finished at No. 3), Hladky finished second in the RMAC in points per set (4.3), second in kills per set (3.6) and fifth in aces per set (2.7).

The six-rotation player led the team in service receptions (587) and reception percentage (.959), and was second on the team in digs per set (2.7) and fourth in blocks per set (0.51).

In September, she became the seventh player in program history with 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs. Among active Division II players, she ranks 15th with 144 career service aces, 23rd with 1,249 kills and 98th with 1,088 digs.
