LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second consecutive season, MSU Denver outside hitter
Riley Anderson has earned a spot on the AVCA All-America volleyball list, moving up to second team after receiving third-team honors last year.
In addition to that, Roadrunners right-side hitter
Maddy Williams has earned AVCA All-America honorable mention.
Anderson, a 2023 All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team selection, has twice been named to the AVCA All-South Central Region team, and she was named to the D2CCA All-South Central Region second team this year. She led the RMAC in points (490.5) while ranking second in kills (430), kills per set (3.8) and points per set (4.3). Nationally, she's 27
th in kills, 31
st in kills per set and 33
rd in points per set. She was named to the South Central Regional's all-tournament team for the third consecutive year after making the RMAC's all-tournament team for the second year in a row. The junior has 929 career kills, which ranks 21
st in program history. She's also 19
th all-time at MSU Denver in career kills per set (3.1), 22
nd in points per set (3.5) and 27
th in points (1,056). In the rally-scoring era she's ninth in kills per set and eighth in points per set.
Williams was an AVCA all-region honorable mention selection after earning All-RMAC second team. She finished fifth in RMAC and 80th in Division II with 106 total blocks, and was ninth in the RMAC with 0.91 blocks per set. She was named the RMAC's Defensive Player of the Week after setting what was the program's rally-scoring era record with 11 blocks in a win over No. 11 Colorado Mesa on Sept. 22, and she had a career-best 20 kills in the regional final loss to No. 5 West Texas A&M.
