@MSUDenverVB: Roadrunners Ranked No. 1 in the Nation!

Team had been ranked No. 2 for the previous five polls

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The MSU Denver volleyball team has returned to No. 1 in the AVCA Division II Top 25 volleyball poll for the first time since Nov. 14, 2022.

The Roadrunners won twice last weekend, increasing their winning streak to 10 consecutive matches while improving to 16-1 overall and 7-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

MSU Denver had been ranked No. 2 for the previous five weeks, and moved up this week after previous No. 1 Tampa (Fla.) lost. Also losing over the weekend was then No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney.

MSU Denver received 31 of 47 first-place votes and 1,154 poll points, with 20-0 Ferris State (Mich.) now ranked second with nine first-place votes and 1, 089 poll points.

The Roadrunners were ranked No. 1 for the first time ever in 2021 and stayed there for five weeks. They returned to No. 1 for four weeks during the 2022 campaign.

MSU Denver has been ranked in the top 10 by the AVCA in 47 consecutive polls dating to early in the 2021 season, as well as in 59 of the last 61.

The Roadrunners play three times this week, visiting Colorado School of Mines (6-11, 3-4) for a 7 p.m. match on Tuesday before playing host to Adams State (5-14, 2-6) on Friday at 6 p.m. and to CSU Pueblo (12-6, 6-2) on Saturday at 4 p.m.

All three teams are unranked – MSU Denver has won 22 straight against unranked teams since losing last year at CSU Pueblo and is 54-2 against ranked teams dating to the end of the 2021 season.
