PUEBLO, Colo. – MSU Denver competed in day one of the Spank Blasing Invitational on Friday and had school-record efforts from
Brandon Simpson in the men's javelin and
Grace Solarin in the women's hammer throw.
Solarin finished in 15
th place at the women's hammer throw with a throw of 149 feet, 7 1/2 inches. Junior
Lushous Davis finished 21
st twith a toss of 104-8-
Simpson was seventh in the javelin with a throw of 177-11 1/4. Twin brother
Jacob Simpson finished 16
th at 135-2 3/4 and
Jordon Grant was 20
th at 124-10 3/4.
In the women's triple jump final, sophomore
Taylor Weber placed ninth with a leap of 35' 5 ½".
Brandon Simpson also finished 20
th in the hammer with a throw of 131' 5 ¼".
In the women's javelin,
Jocelyn Korbe finished ninth at 110-4.
Brooklynn Jones was 11
th with a result of 109-5 ¼, and Davis was 19
th with 85- 3/4.
The meet concludes Saturday.
