@RoadrunnerSB: Medhus Named RMAC Pitcher of the Week

Sophomore pitched 11 scoreless innings for two victories

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – MSU Denver's Jenna Medhus has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week for softball.

Medhus twirled 11 scoreless innings in two starts to lead the Roadrunners to a four-game sweep of UCCS while maintaining first place in the RMAC at 22-2.

The 2023 RMAC Freshman of the Year allowed just six hits and two walks while striking out seven and holding opponents to a .162 batting average and going 2-0.

She pitched five two-hit shutout innings in a 7-0 victory in the first game of the series, then went the full six innings – allowing four hits and no walks while striking out six – in the third game of the series, which was shortened due to the eight-run rule.

In league play Medhus is 8-0 with a 3.32 ERA, ranking second in the RMAC in wins and ninth in ERA. For the season, she is 9-0 with a 3.00 ERA – she's tied for third in the league in wins and ranks seventh in ERA.

It's just the second time this season the first-place Roadrunners have picked up Player or Pitcher of the Week honors from the league.

It's Medhus' first career pitcher of the week honor.
