CANYON, Texas – Maya Ries crushed her previous school record in the 100-meter hurdles, hitting a provisional qualifying time for NCAA Division II Nationals and moving into the national top 10 in the process, to lead MSU Denver at the Jo Meaker Classic & Multi.
Ries' fourth-place time of 13.99 seconds easily eclipsed the school-record time of 14.33 she ran last week and also surpassed the provisional mark of 14.22. The 13.99 would have ranked tied for sixth nationally prior to Friday's competition.
Naleia Sowell would have topped her two-week-old mark in the 200 with a 24.84 clocking, but the time was wind-aided.
Allyssa Romero was right there as well, finishing in 24.96.
Claire Hummel improved her status as the third-fastest individual in the 100 in program history as she turned in a 12
th-place personal-best clocking 12.12. That's the seventh-fastest legal 100 ever run by a Roadrunner.
Also Friday,

th place in the shot put. In those same events,
