DENVER, Colo. - The No. 13 Metro State women's soccer team, led by #
Becca Mays#' three goals, cruised to a 5-1 victory over UC-Colorado Springs on Friday evening in Colorado Springs. The Roadrunners improved to 8-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while UCCS dropped to 2-4-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the RMAC.
Mays' three goals marked her third career hat trick and her second this season. She also scored three times in a win over Colorado Mines on Sept. 11. Friday was also her 13th career multi-goal game.

The game was scoreless through the first 30 minutes as the Roadrunners put just one of its two shot attempts on goal. But Thomas ended the scoring drought in the 31st minute as she connected on a cross from the left side from DeGeneres.
The score remained 1-0 into the half, but Mays opened scoring against just 30 seconds into the second half with an unassisted goal.
Nemmers made the score 3-0 in the 68th minute as she scored in the upper right corner after a cross from McQuilliams.
Mays added consecutive goals to earn her hat trick in the 71st and 75th minutes. Her second goal of the game came off a corner kick from Ryan. Her final goal of the game came after Oliver found her in the center of the box. Mays' initial shot hit the post, but she was there to put in her own rebound.
Krista Mirabelli finally put the Mountain Lions on the board in the 87th minute as Ashley Collins' cross hit Mirabelli in the upper thigh and deflected into the net.
Metro State barely outshot UCCS, just 12-11, but had a 9-6 advantage on shots on goal.
The Roadrunners will host their homecoming game on Sunday at noon against Colorado State-Pueblo. Festivities, including free food, will go on throughout the women's game and the men's game, which begins at 2:30 p.m. against No. 9 Fort Lewis.
